Open to Incoming and Existing AP Social Studies Students
Session I dates 6/7 - 6/10 OR Session II dates 6/28 - 7/1 - 8 am to 11 am
The purpose of this course is to expose students to the skills required to succeed in an Advanced Placement Social Studies Class. This workshop will begin with general tips for success including growth mindset training, study skills, test taking, and general expectations associated with high level academic courses. It will then go into social studies specific skills such as historical thesis writing, document analysis, developing connections between lecture material and reading assignments, textbook decoding, and development of critical thinking skills. Priority enrollment will be given to students planning to enroll in their first AP course in the fall.
